I Changed My Name Just To Upgrade & Not To Re-brand – TIC
Ghanaian musician, TiC was formerly known as Tic Tac has explained that the change on his name is an upgrade and not a rebranding process and revamp of his music career.
He indicated that he changed his name from TicTac to TiC but it doesn’t necessarily imply that he has rebranded himself as people say, but an upgrade.
He said that Tic has always been his name noting that even when he was known as TicTac, most of his friends would just call him Tic so he has now decided to take off the ‘Tac’ and stick to what has always been his name which he referred to as a new vibe and not a rebrand.
He made these comments in an interview where he said;
He further added that he is surprised that people are saying it is a rebrand because it’s no big deal if he was called TicTac and now prefers Tic.

For me, it’s not like I’ve changed my name totally. TiC is the name that I have used from day one. If you listen to all my songs from Philomina to Serwaa Akoto, coming to all the songs you’ve ever heard from me, you’ll notice one way or the other, I mention Tic or bra Tic.
He further added that he is surprised that people are saying it is a rebrand because it’s no big deal if he was called TicTac and now prefers Tic.
It is more of a new twist just so it can be more appealing to the generation ahead but it is not like ‘Tac’ attached was giving me any problems, he said.
